MY APPROACH
My mission in creating Your Space Psychotherapy is to provide clients a space that feels warm and welcoming. I want clients to feel seen and heard. A place where their stories and experiences can be shared in a judgement free space so healing can begin.
With genuine interest, curiosity and exploration we will gain a clearer understanding of why you may feel depressed, anxious, unhappy or stuck in old patterns in your relationships. Together we will work on letting go of those old patterns and discover new ways of communicating and coping. I also want to help you uncover your resilience and capacity to change the things you can control and live a life you feel more excited about. I endeavour to help you thrive.
Therapy with me is grounded in relational, attachment and trauma informed perspectives. This helps to make sense of some of the “whys” for the emotional or psychological pain you are experiencing. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy approaches.
MY STORY
Before starting my own private practice, I spent over 13 years working with individuals and families at the Hospital for Sick Children, supporting them with their mental health and relationship concerns. As a Registered Psychotherapist I have taken my clinical experience and continued to work with individuals and couples in private practice.
